Collective Beauty

A bold, full-service brand and website for a salon that had a whole personality and needed a brand to match it.

Brand Essence: Bold, Playful, Energetic

Brand Elements: Logo, color palette, font system, business cards, brochure, social media templates, and custom Squarespace website

The Story

Some projects walk in the door already knowing exactly who they are. Collective Beauty was one of those.

Ali Butler had built something genuinely special in Pataskala, Ohio — a booth-rent salon where beauty professionals don't just share a space, they lift each other up. A place where individual style is celebrated, continued education is part of the culture, and clients feel it the moment they walk in. Jewel tones on the walls. A flamingo bathroom. A cozy lounge. An energy that's equal parts professional and completely them.

What she needed was a brand bold enough to hold all of that.

The Approach

Before anything else, I got clear on the heart of the collective. What makes Collective Beauty different isn't just the services — it's the vibe. The community. The values. The belief that stylists can build sustainable, thriving careers through booth renting without sacrificing the support of a team around them.

That meant the brand couldn't be generic salon chic. It had to be bold, playful, and energetic — the kind of visual identity that makes someone stop mid-scroll and think, I need to go there.

I also helped Ali get clear on her brand vision early in the process, which is something I always prioritize. Because a beautiful brand you don't fully understand is one you can't use consistently — and consistency is what makes a brand work long after launch day.

The Work

The full project included a custom logo design and complete hair salon brand identity, built around a rich jewel-tone color palette, a font system with real personality, and brand elements designed to stretch across every touchpoint from business cards and social media, to a full Squarespace website design for a salon in Pataskala, Ohio.

The website carries the same energy as the physical space: warm, confident, and immediately inviting. It communicates what Collective Beauty is about before a single word is read. For anyone searching for a hair salon in Pataskala, a nail tech near Columbus, or a booth rent salon in central Ohio, the site positions the collective as exactly the kind of place worth booking and worth staying loyal to.

Every design decision was intentional. The gold logo. The animated circle mark. The "it's a vibe" headline that says more about this salon than a paragraph of copy ever could.

The Outcome

A brand that matched the space, the energy, and the people inside it. A website that works as hard as the team does. And a salon owner who left the process not just with deliverables, but with clarity and a brand vision she could carry forward as the collective continues to grow.

That's what happens when strategy and design work together from the very beginning.
